Another season for the Dutch V8 Racing Team in the

International GT Open Championship with three new drivers and a new Corvette GT3

After an exiting and successful race season last year and winning the Super GT title, the Dutch V8 Racing Team is proud to announce they will continue to race in the GT Open championship with three Corvettes.

Nicky Pastorelli (NED) and Miguel Ramos (POR), runner-ups in the 2013 GT Open Drivers’ championship, will like last year, share one of the two Corvettes C6R. Diederick Sijthoff (NED) will share the other Corvette C6R with Archie Hamilton (ENG), the talented young British driver. The third car confirmed for this year is a new and latest version of the Corvette Z06 GT3, driven by the young Belgium driver Dylan Derdaele and the Dutch driver Dennis Retera.

Team owner Rick Abresch: “I am happy and proud to announce that we once again have been able to have put together a great team of drivers for this year. I know what I can expect of our regular drivers Miquel Ramos, Diederick Sijthoff and Nicky Pastorelli. And with Archie Hamilton, Dylan Derdaele and Dennis Retera I am convinced that we are able to fight for even more podium finishes.”

Diederick Sijthoff: “I have learned a lot last year and hope to see better results this year. The team has grown so much last year that I am really looking forward getting back into the Corvette. With Archie Hamilton as my team-mate it is going to be an exiting new season.”

Archie Hamilton: "I really had a tough time last season after we had been developing the Porsche all year and then the fire ended my season. Nicky Pastorelli was in second place when I was leading that race and ever since we kept in contact. It’s just fantastic to be in the best team in the paddock. V8 Racing was always a team I wanted to drive for and to get the chance in the Corvette GT2 car in a series which I have been successful in is great. My team-mate Diederick Sijthoff has been very quick and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Dylan Derdaele: “I am very happy to join the V8 Racing team in the International GT Open Championship and drive their new Corvette GT3.  This gives me the opportunity to race with some very experienced GT drivers and I am looking forward to this challenge. After many years of driving in a Porsche, I can’t wait to get into the Corvette.”

Dennis Retera: "I am proud to say I am now a driver with the V8 Racing team. It is a serious and dedictated team and I look forward to race with my team-mate Dylan Derdaele in the  new Corvette GT3. “

Nicky Pastorelli: “I am very happy to be able to do another year with the V8 Racing team. We did very well last year and during the winter we worked hard to improve even further. I will enjoy sharing the car again with Miguel Ramos. We get on really well on and off the circuit and did some great racing together.”
